#Diabetic: Precautions #diabetics should take with #Gestational #diabetes. #insulin

When your Blood Sugar is Too Low
In a perfect diabetic world, you take your insulin, eat your meals and exercise and your blood glucose levels remain stable.  But things happen, you take your insulin late, you eat a light meal and then spend all afternoon running errands.  This is a recipe for hypoglycemia a condition when your blood glucose levels fall dangerously low.

Hypoglycemia isn't so much a hazard for the baby but it is for a mom with gestational diabetes.  The best way to prevent this from happening is to know the signs and how you feel when you blood sugar is getting low and to carry emergency supplies with you at all times.

Some of the symptoms of low blood sugar include feeling:

* Hungry
* Nauseous
* Light-headed
* Faint

In the case of any of these symptoms, you should test your blood sugar right away and have something to eat.  The best choice is a glass of juice or another food item that is considered fast-acting such as a piece of fruit or a piece of candy.  Carry something with you at all times and a regular snack too.  If you are out and need to eat (say you are stuck in your car during a traffic jam) it is important to have food with you.

Other precautions that you should take when you have gestational diabetes include carrying a card or another item that identifies you have diabetes and what type of insulin you are taking.

The worse case scenario is you passing out and the people who come to help you need to know that you are diabetic.  Make sure people at work and your family members are aware of your condition and know what warning signs to look for if you need help and when to bring your some juice or something else to eat.

Helpful Tips for People with Diabetes - Improve Sexual Function and Libido

How does a woman feel sexy with a plastic pump attached to her legs, lower back, stomach, or arms? When your husband, boyfriend, or girlfriend puts their hand around your back, how do you feel when they brush against your pump? Do the bruises on your stomach from injections make you feel less desirable? Does the extra weight make you want to dress in loose, less revealing clothing?
Having sex for the first time can be an exciting, embarrassing, and overwhelming event. For young women with diabetes, the fact that we have to think about our blood sugar and/or medical supplies getting in the way can create additional feelings of self-consciousness. Diabetes may keep some women from rushing into having sex, whereas diabetes may act as a catalyst for others. For the rest, like Ann, diabetes won’t make a difference under the sheets at all.

Been in the mood for love lately? If the answer is not so much, know that it's not just you. Approximately 50 percent of men and 35 percent of women with type 2 diabetes experience sexual difficulties. That's no surprise, considering the host of physical and psychological challenges that often accompany diabetes.

Still, you can clear sexual hurdles and attain an active love life. More than 60 percent of partnered, middle-aged people with diabetes have sex at least two or three times a month, according to a study published in the journal Diabetes Care. That frequency is comparable to people in the same age group without diabetes.
Don't give up and assume sex is just another thing diabetes will take from you. Reliable treatments and coping strategies are available for physical as well as psychological issues. Rediscover your sexual self with the help of these expert tips.

Self-esteem and Sex
My personal theory is that in order to feel sexy and fully enjoy sex, we need to feel pride instead of shame when it comes to our physical selves.
I think, many women with diabetes are often at war with their bodies.
We deny ourselves of food in order to be thin, beat ourselves up when we eat more than we think we should, and when we look in the mirror, we only see the things we don’t like. As women with chronic illnesses,
we are constantly “battling” our bodies into submission, we are “waging a war” against blood sugars, and war is not sexy. We treat our bodies like scientific experiments, and our sexual satisfaction will only increase
when we learn to be kind to ourselves and honor our physical selves.

Having good sex and feeling sexy doesn’t come naturally for a lot of women, and if we want to get good at it, it’ll take practice. We need to learn to visualize our physical selves as healthy, strong, and sexy.

Diabetes and female sexual dysfunction (FSD) tends to get less coverage than male sexual dysfunction but studies have found that the prevalence in women could be as much an issue for women as men.

Sexual dysfunction in women can affect sexual desire and arousal and can also lead to pain during sex.

How diabetes can affect sex for women

Sex can affect women in the following ways:

Vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina) often caused by yeast infections

Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) often a result of a urinary tract infection

    Trouble with vaginal lubrication

Difficulty with arousal of the clitoris

    Pain during sex

    Difficulty achieving orgasm

    Psychological effects

Causes of female sexual dysfunction

Vascular damage (damage to blood vessels) can affect blood supply to the vagina and clitoris which can cause problems with dryness and arousal. Neuropathy (nerve damage) can have a similar effect in that it can reduce sensitivity.

Diabetes can also lead to low oestrogen levels which can also affect lubrication of the vagina.

However, it does not affect your ability to become pregnant.

Psychological reasons can be a common cause of sexual dysfunction in women and can affect relationships.

Diabetes no doubt makes life harder and this can affect one’s sex life in a number of ways including stress, self-image and through to depression.

I am #Diabetic #A1C #insulin #T1D

People think diabetes is just physical and even then it’s more physical then they can imagine. It’s blood and scars and black freckles on your fingers. It’s bruises on your body and pink marks on your stomach. It’s scratches and burning as insulin enters the fat and saves you life.

And just as it physical it’s mental. A double edged sword. A double wammy. For me, I’d say it’s more a mental battle. It’s telling yourself to keep fighting, to take that needle for the forth time that day.

That you can get through it. You can through the depression and the anxiety and the hate you have for a body that’s failed you. That if you can get through today, then that’s another battle you’ve fought and concurred.

That it will all get easier.

That even though it’s not fair you can overcome it. That there’s hope that tomorrow will be better. And it’s the hope that kills you as it’s not always met.

#Diabetics:Daily #Coffee consumption protects against #diabetes #A1C #T1D

Coffee: The antioxidant-filled beverage is adding another benefit to its ever-growing roster.

A new study published in the journal Diabetologia has revealed that increasing your daily consumption of coffee may help protect against diabetes.  According to the researchers, individuals who increased their daily coffee intake by more than one cup over a four-year period had an 11 percent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

The findings further strengthen previous research linking coffee consumption with a reduced diabetes risk.

“The link between coffee consumption and type 2 diabetes is pretty well established,” lead author Shilpa Bhupathiraju, research fellow in the department of nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health, told solarbay.  “What we don’t know is what happens when people change their consumption.  That’s never been studied, but that reflects people changing their diet in real life.”

For their research, Bhupathiraju and her team utilized data from three large cohorts: 48,464 women in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital-based Nurses’ Health Study (1986 – 2006); 47,510 women in the Nurses’ Health Study II (1991 – 2007); and 27,759 men in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (1986 – 2007).  For all the groups, diet was assessed every four years, while medical and lifestyle changes were reported every two years.  Over the study periods, 7,269 people developed type 2 diabetes.

The researchers found that changing coffee consumption – either increasing it or lowering it – had an impact on the risk for diabetes.

“Compared to people who made no changes to coffee consumption habits over a four-year period, those who increased coffee by more than a cup each day had an 11 percent lower risk of type 2 diabetes,” Bhupathiraju said. “Those who decreased coffee consumption by more than cup had a 17 percent higher risk of type 2 diabetes.”

Additionally, the researchers examined the risks and benefits associated with drinking decaffeinated coffee and certain types of tea – in order to better determine if caffeine played an important role. Overall, they didn’t see any association between diabetes risk and these types of beverages, but Bhupathiraju explained that few people in the study made changes to their decaf or tea consumption, making the numbers too low to analyze.

As for why caffeinated coffee may have this protective health effect, Bhupathiraju said the morning drink holds a number of beneficial compounds, which may play important roles in both metabolism and cardiovascular health.

“Coffee has a lot of bioactive compounds and phenolic compounds, such as chlorogenic acid.  Chlorogenic acid improves glucose metabolism in animal models that have been studied," she said.  Coffee also has other compounds like lignans, and it’s also a source of magnesium, which is associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.  So the biology is definitely there,” she said.

However, coffee isn’t without its critics.  Although recent research has pointed to many of the drink’s health benefits, other studies have also found some downsides associated with the beverage – with one study linking heavy coffee consumption with a higher risk of early death.

Bhupathiraju said coffee isn’t a miracle “drug” by any means, and it’s important not to drink too much of it.

Evidence that, up to six cups a day, it’s associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.  The evidence is pretty solid,” Bhupathiraju said.  “For cardiovascular disease, you see a U-shaped association.  So there’s no association at the lower end or higher end, but you see a protective effect in the middle.  So three cups a day, you see a lower risk.”

And of course, the best way of reducing your risk of diabetes is through proper nutrition and exercise, she said.

“It’s so important to maintain a healthy body weight and follow a healthy lifestyle,” Bhupathiraju said.   “In this context, moderate coffee consumption is associated with lower chronic disease.”

#Diabetics: #Glyconutrients can help with your #diabetes. #A1C #T1D #insulin

      Dispelling 6 myths about diabetes.

You are about to discover a scientifically proven nutritional supplement that boosts your immune system and gets your diabetes under control.

But before we get too far along, let's dispell with some
"myths" about diabetes.

Myth #1 If You Have Diabetes You Will Always Be Sick
No. Diabetics can lead ordinary, healthy and productive
lives.

Myth #2: If it is in your family, you will get it too.
No. Studies have shown that there is a genetic
predisposition for diabetes, so if it runs in the family, it
should be taken as a sign that individuals may have an
increased risk for developing the disease.

However, a risk does not necessarily mean that individuals
are bound to end up with the disease. There are many
preventative measures that can be taken in order to decrease risk, such as exercise, healthy diet, and weight
conciseness.

Myth #3 You can catch diabetes from someone else.
No. Although we don't know exactly why some people get
diabetes, we know that diabetes is not contagious. It can't
be caught like a cold or flu. There seems to be some genetic
link in diabetes, particularly Type 2 diabetes. But
environmental factors also play a part.

Myth #4 Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.
No. Diabetes is caused by a combination of genetic and
environmental factors. However, being overweight does
increase your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, so if you
have a history of diabetes in your family, a healthy diet
and regular exercise are recommended to control your weight.

Myth #5 People with diabetes can't eat sweets or chocolate.
No. You can have some sugar, but choose wisely.
Sweets are no more out of bounds to people with diabetes
than they are to the rest of us, if eaten as part of a
healthy diet, or combined with exercise. People who take
certain tablets or insulin to treat their diabetes may
sometimes need to eat high-sugar foods to prevent their
blood glucose levels falling too low.
Finally we move to:

Myth #6 People with diabetes can't drink alcohol.
No. You can drink alcohol occasionally if you limit your
intake.
Just because you have diabetes doesn't mean you can't enjoy an occasional alcoholic beverage. If you do, practice
moderation -- no more than a drink or two a few times a
week. Alcohol is full of calories and doesn't supply any
nutrients. Like sugary foods, alcohol is best kept as an
occasional indulgence, and not a regular part of your diet.

Diabetes is a group of diseases that affect the way your
body uses blood sugar (glucose). This sugar is vital to your
health because it's your body's main source of fuel.

Glyconutrients are eight simple sugars that Harpers
Biochemistry, (every Doctor’s biochemistry "bible"), calls
"essential sugars". These are simple sugars or
"monosacharrides" that create cellular communication. They
are responsible for getting your cells to "talk" to one
another.

Today, there are over 350,000 peer-reviewed scientific
papers on glycobiology available for Medical Professionals
to review on the internet. Since 1994 there have been Four
Nobel Prizes for Physiology and Medicine related to the
discovery of these essential sugars.

The fact is regardless of what your wellness issue
glyconutrients will restart your cellular communication.
Cells are a basic building block of our physiology.

Healthy cells make healthy tissues. Healthy tissue makes
healthy organs. Healthy organs make healthy systems. If
your systems are working synergistically together and are
healthy at the cellular level then you do not have a health
problem.

So, it really doesn't matter whether your wellness issue is
diabetes or heart disease or cancer or fibromyalgia or
multiple sclerosis or asthma: glyconutrients work for all
the trillions of cells in your body.

What do glyconutrients really mean to diabetics? Well
for one thing they cut right through both the numerous myths and standard facts of diabetes.

Glyconutrients will change how you deal with your diabetes.
The natural change in your body’s energy after using
glyconutrients will make a noticeable change in your overall
health.

#Diabetics:When you get Sick and have #Gestational #Diabetes #diabetic

Aside from the morning sickness that many women suffer from in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, you may catch a cold or the flu before your baby is born.  In of itself, this isn't a fun experience but when you have gestational diabetes and are on insulin it is very important that you take extra good care of yourself.

It is important to remember that no matter how you are feeling, you need to take your insulin.  Your body relies on the external source of insulin and needs it to keep
functioning properly.  But what do you do if you have the flu and are vomiting or don't have any appetite to eat.  As a short term solution, take your insulin and drink a soda that is not diet (you want the sugar in this case).  If you are able to, nibble on crackers or dry toast.  All the while, you need to keep a very close eye on your glucose levels with your monitor.

You need to balance the insulin you are taking and the food you are consuming so your blood sugar levels do not drop.  If you are unsure of what to do, contact your doctor.  A better plan is to have this discussion with your doctor before you get sick.  Your health care provider will give you guidelines to follow when you become ill and when you should contact the office or go to the hospital if things are progressively getting worse.

Getting sick is never fun but being pregnant and sick isn't just about you.  You have to still take care of your baby and yourself.  Be aware that when you are sick, your blood sugars may not act as they normally do, test more often to keep track of what the results are.

#Diabetics #Hyperglycemia and Type 1 and Type 2 #Diabetes

Elevated blood sugars are not good for your body and prolonged exposure to high blood sugars can have devastating affects on your organs (specifically your heart, kidneys, and eyes).  Recognizing the signs of high glucose levels and testing regularly can help to keep you aware and in control of this important part of being a diabetic.

The symptoms that indicate your blood sugar is too high are the same signs that you might recognize from when you were first diagnosed with diabetes – an extreme thirst, frequent urination, and a feeling of lethargy.  The good news is that once you are aware of how your body reacts to high blood sugar you can act more quickly because you know what is going on with your body.

If you are sick or are taking certain medications your blood glucose levels could be higher than normal.  It is important to advise your pharmacist that you are diabetic when you are picking up your prescription.  They can advise you of the side effects you can expect and what you should do about them if anything.

If your blood sugar is high everyday at the same time it may be a signal that your body needs more insulin.  If you are comfortable adjusting your own dosage do so in small increments.  If you are not comfortable a call in to your doctor or diabetes educator is in order and they can advise you on any adjustments that you will need to make.

In addition, review what you have eaten recently.  If you have tried a new food or have been less active lately or you have eaten a food high in carbohydrates that is probably the reason for the high blood sugar readings.  Once you know the reason for the high blood sugars you can do something to fix it and prevent it from happening again.

#Sexwellness: Stimulate the G-spot and Clitoris Simultaneously

Women can stimulate both of these erogenous spots in several different ways, and it is up to her to find the one that works best. If one position doesn't seem to be working, don't be afraid to try a different method. Part of having a healthy sexual relationship is for partners to be able to express their sexual likes and dislikes. Here are some are the best sexual positions to help her have a clitoral orgasm, along with a climax originating in her G-spot.

1.) The Modified Missionary Style

This position is the same as regular missionary style sex, with one minor difference. By using pillows, her back and pelvic area can be tilted up, which will allow for deeper penetration. Women can either raise their legs and place their feet on their partner’s shoulders, or have them raised up above them. Pillows can be used to help support her lower back, and change the angle of penetration. With the deeper penetration his penis can stimulate the G-spot, while she can simultaneously massage her clitoris. This sexual position also allows for a higher degree of intimacy between couples, since they are facing each other.

2.) Doggie Style

While this is not for every woman, it does allow deeper penile penetration which can reach the G-spot. At the same time, her partner can reach around and stimulate the clitoris with his free hand. In Doggie Style, the woman is lying on her stomach with her pelvic region slightly raised. Pillows can also be used to help support her. With this angle, her partner will be able to penetrate more deeply and help her reach the two different orgasms simultaneously. In this sexual position her partner has complete control over both the rhythm and tempo of his thrusts, which can be used to help stimulate and arouse her.

3.) Woman on Top

This is another favorite position for women, since it puts them in charge of how fast and deep each sexual thrust is. It is the same as the missionary position, except that the woman is on top instead of the man. Since the woman is in control she can concentrate on stimulating her G-spot, while her partner can use his free hands to gently massage her clitoris. This position can also be performed with the woman facing away from her partner. Normally referred to as the "reverse cowgirl" it can still stimulate her G-spot, but it is usually less easy for her to massage the clitoris instead.

Along with the various sexual positions there are also other methods to achieve the amazing feeling of having both a clitoral and G-spot orgasms at one time.

Other Methods for Achieving a G-spot and Clitoral Orgasm

Even oral sex can be used to help a woman have two separate orgasms at one time. Instead of him only using his tongue on the sensitive clitoris, also try inserting two fingers into the vagina to stimulate the G-spot as well duringmasturbation. Vibrators and dildos can also be used, or the woman can also participate. With one partner concentrating on the clitoris, the other can concentrate on exciting the G-spot. Not only will this give her an amazing dual orgasm, it can also help to increase intimacy between couples.

Hands should never be taken for granted, and they can be used to bring a woman to two orgasms, at the same time with a little patience. With the woman lying flat on her back, her partner should use the palm of one hand to cover her vagina, with their fingers resting on top of the opening. By applying pressure and massaging the clitoris, she can quickly become aroused. Once she is ready, insert two fingers into her vagina to start stimulating the G-spot. With a little patience, she will experience two orgasms simultaneously that will leaving her feeling completely satisfied.

Conclusion

There is no right or wrong way for a woman to experience a clitoral and G-spot orgasm at one time, only what feels right to her. With a little practice and patience, it is possible for women to have double orgasms at the same time.

Let #Romance and #love #Motivate Us

All of us need motivation. We eat because we feel hungry. We drink water because we are thirsty. We do everything in life for a reason.

For living, we only need air, water, food and shelter. But we are much more evolved than animals. So we want to achieve something in life that satisfies us. That makes us feel a success.

All of us have our own goals. Some of us have goals that look highly impossible. But history tells us that this has been done. Unknown people born in unknown families have amassed wealth beyond imagination. Great painters were born in small places but today the whole world knows about them. How? Because they wanted to achieve something. Take any field and you will find some achievers who themselves cannot believe about their own success!

It is said that behind every successful person, there is one of the opposite sex. This is true, because romance is a great motivator. In romance, one begins looking at the world with different eyes. In romance, one wants to look good in the eyes of the beloved. In romance one wants to do everything that pleases one's beloved. Love conquers all the obstacles on the way and impossible begins looking possible. The romance of a flower makes a Butterfly run hither thither.

Bring romance in your life. You will find yourself a changed person. You will reach heights from where everything will look small. Let romance motivate you to do what you had only dreamed of.

3 Powerful Tips To Help Manage Everyday Stress

Often times stress will manifest when we carry over yesterday's concerns into our present day concerns. An accumulation will almost always end up in a high stress level. Therefore, we must be able to dump all of our concerns from the previous day or days and concentrate wholly on our today.

- Stress Busting Tip #1

Resolve right now to release every thought from yesterday and be only mindful of the now. this thought only...this breath...this moment. Take in three very deep breaths and slowly release each one.

At the same time feel each and every concern, each and every problem, and each and every unresolved moment, begin to dissolve. You can deal with them at a later time. For now, you are only to be in this very moment.

Now go to your inner quiet place. Go deep inside to a place where you feel that you are at peace and then just relax and breathe in deeply and enjoy the feeling of being at one and at peace within yourself.

Use this special time and place to be calm. Free your mind and body of all worry, all regret, all disappointment, all anger and grief.

- Stress Busting Tip #2

Next, think of one particular act, such as rocking your baby, taking a quick stroll, raking the leaves, and do that one simple thing. All the while, your mind is quiet and calm and you are in your own special place within.

Practice this act of quiet and calm each day and you will see that you will accomplish so much more. At the first sign of being stressed, go back to this mindful, quiet place and start all over again until you have reached your inner place of calm.

- Stress Busting Tip #3

The very best thing that you can do for yourself is to eat, drink and rest – to your health!

Stress is easily brought on by not eating and drinking properly. When you don't get the number of hours of sleep that you need each night, you are only setting yourself up for additional stress.

Limit the amount of salt, sugar, caffeine and alcohol in your diet. Drink plenty of clean, pure water each day and do at least moderate exercise each day. This will breathe new life into your skin, hair and will nourish all of your vital organs.

Take time to breathe properly! Take deep belly breathes to send pure oxygen to all of your body. Laugh and then laugh some more. It is food for the soul! Spend time doing the things that please you most. Engage in healthy and fulfilling relationships and work on problems that would erode the closeness that you have with someone special.

When we are content and living a balanced life everyday stresses seem to pale in comparison. We are better equipped to deal with the unexpected.

You can take control today! Isolate only one particular stresses in your life and then work on it until you regain control. At the very least, have some new hope!
